A complex wine of full body, made only from the best selected grapes of vines grown in older terraced vineyards. This is a variety that only matures in the best vintages. The final result is a harmonious whole.
Grape variety: Merlot 80%, Cabernet Sauvignon 20% Wine growing region: Brda Slovenia and DOC Collio Goriziano Italy Soil: Eocene flysch (marl, sandstone). Vineyard orientation: S, SW Altitude: 170 m Vine training: single Guyot Grape harvest: October. Hand harvesting, selected grapes of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon at full ripeness. Gentle handling of grapes and must. Naturally dried Merlot grapes are used in part. Maceration: 18 days on the skins in barrique oak barrels at a controlled temperature. Fermentation is completed in barrique oak barrels. Maturing: 4 years in barrique oak barrels. Sugar level: dry Wine is not filtered. Bottle and packaging: Bordolese GOLIA 0,75 l/cardboard box of 6 bottles Serving temperature: 18–20 °C. Decanting is recommended or opening the bottle about one hour prior to tasting the wine to let it breathe. Description: dark ruby with brick-red tones. The bouquet is intense and unique. Complex fruity aromas of sour-cherry, dry plums and chocolate with a slightly piquant peppery taste. The wine feels structured, harmonious and elegant. Full-bodied wine with fruity freshness. Excellent aftertaste. Great potential for ageing.
